So I've been playing the beta of this and...I dig it.
For one thing the Autobooker is waaaayyyy better, making it easier for me to get through spots when I'm just...eh.
Freestyle Angles are great.
But I think what will get me to pick this sucker up early is the increase in worker events and ways things can go sideways in new and different ways.
The beta demo only lets you simulate two months but I've already had some bits that have sold me.
For ex:
Workers sending me emails saying 'This guy is awesome' or 'this guy is terrible.'
If someone gets hurt there's a chance the other guy gets blamed. It may or may not be his fault, but it seems like Consistency and Safety are a bigger deal.
Better product definitions. So now I have some idea what it means to run a 'Risque' promotion or what the differences really are between a Modern Daredevil promotion and a Modern Lucha Libre promotion.
Body types is just fun and adds a nice new dimension to characters.
Wrestler's Court and Locker Room Leaders.
Being able to mass edit...pretty much everything.
Workers relocating to be farther away or closer to you depending on the business.
AIs that hire guys away to screw you but seem to be doing it less rote, so it seems more organic.
Popularity gains are less static and there's more way to get them. Got a total rookie? Just putting him on TV gets him something. Heck I had a guy go from 4 to 20 popularity after he had a great match (And lost) to a popular midcarder. Which seems more legit than the numbers game before.
All sorts of new TV options and such I haven't played with.
Random worker match events. Like if someone is hurt really bad, they might cover the injury and rewrite the card, meaning you don'y drop on a belt on a guy who will suddenly be out 12 months. At least not as often. Or a worker might develop a cool comeback or catch phrase that increases their abilities. ('El Mitico developed a special comeback during the match that really connected with the crowd, increasing their understanding of psychology and adding to their character' and such)
Scandals, movie deals, etc...
Better relationships that make more sense. People date and then may get engaged or married as a progression. Before it almost never happened.
Sex Appeal can now matter for dudes. And lady workers can get their own fanbases of younger female fans that see them as a role model (I think males can too, but you can totally have a Bayley effect).
The big question is organic bios. They seem cool, but not enough stuff happens in 2 months to see how well they work.
My complaints are relatively minor. Need more generic pictures for certain ethnicities (though TONS of nice new Asian worker ones). Need more company logos. And so on. I know I can check the forum for those, but I would have preferred some more in the game, especially since apparently now companies can autogenerate.
Anyone else checked out the beta? Thoughts?
